Dear Self…
How many times in the day do you criticize yourself and fill your mind with insecurities?
This may seem vain, but I dare you to take 5 min and write a letter to yourself. And be nice. I’m not talking about a journal entry, or a blog with ramblings of your thoughts. I mean a real letter.
It’s important to spend some time to raise self-awareness and let your body & mind know you are loved. Love yourself first, and the world will love you back.

These little guys just wanted to greet you all a good morning and wish you a happy Wednesday! We’re half way through the week which means there’s still plenty of time to go BIGGER. What can you do today to make meaningful change in a fun creative way? We suggest writing an anonymous positive affirmation to a friend, family member, co-worker, and/or stranger. :)

Have another idea? Do share! We’d love to hear/see/read what you’re doing to go BIGGER.

My personal story with Alzheimer’s disease..elliphantom:

My Handsome Grandpa
I never saw my grandpa like this, tall an athletic. By the time I was born, my grandpa had survived 2 strokes and was in his early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Despite his memory loss, we developed a close bond. He’s the reason I love 客家 food, the reason I love San Diego day trips, and the reason I love being a Peng彭.
In high school, I went to visit him in Taiwan. At that point, Alzheimer’s had taken pretty much his whole memory. My mom, sister, and I walked into his room and greeted him. No response. But then I felt someone hold my hand…. and it was my grandpa. No words were exchanged. He just stroked my hand and cried. At that moment, I knew he remembered and loved us.
I am lucky to have gotten that last glimpse of recognition. But for many people, that recognition never comes back. Let’s do something to save our memories. Join the Big or Bigger movement and donate a memory of your First Love.

AVoid Alzheimer’s… A 7 Day Challenge to Save Your First Love

We at Big or Bigger challenge you, our friends and family, to take on our AVoid challenge. In 7 days, we set out to collect 200 memories of first loves to be published in AVoid, a book to raise awareness and funding for Alzheimer’s Disease. Together we can save our memories and help find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease by sharing a memory you would hate to lose. Join our movement and donate now!

Donation levels:
[CONTRIBUTOR] $1 = your name will be listed as a contributor in our book
[MEMORY MAKER] $5 = your memory, in the form of an image and caption, will be featured in our book
[MEMORY SAVER] $50 = your memory will be featured in our book plus we’ll send you a copy of your first love in a customized frame

After completing your donation, we will email you confirmation and detailed memory submission instructions. Big or Bigger will match each donation and all proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Visit their site to learn more about Alzheimer’s and how you can help.
